Fiji’s International Airport at Nadi hosts daily direct flights from Sydney (4 hours), Auckland (3 hours), Honolulu (6 hours), Los Angeles (10 hours), and other world-wide locations. Flights from Nadi to Taveuni Island take about 70 minutes. We do not book flights. Air Pacific offers competitive rates on the internet. We can arrange scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, fishing, hiking and bird watching. Or you can explore on your own with Nakia’s complimentary deluxe mountain bikes and kayaks. See the “diving” and “adventures” pages at www.nakiafiji.com.
Yes. Nakia is a family-owned and -operated resort. We are one of very few child-friendly resorts on Taveuni. We enjoy preparing meals for children of all ages and we provide child care for a small fee.
Yes. All meals at our Cliffhouse Restaurant are made-to-order. We serve fresh organic fruits, vegetables and herbs from our own garden and can accommodate almost any special diet. Please check with us for special diets prior to booking your accommodations.
Nakia’s one-week lodging and meals special for two people costs US$1,365 plus government tax, per person. Guests can hire a van with driver for a few hours or all day. Rates are reasonable, and depend upon mileage and waiting time. The cost of activities varies from free for snorkeling in front of the resort, biking, and kayaking to several hundred dollars to charter a boat for a full day.
Yes. Guests may pay with Fijian dollars or VISA or MasterCard. Credit card users are charged an additional 4% surcharge which we are charged and pass through. Guests may wish to use the ATM machine at Bank of South Pacific in Naqara, the nearest town, to obtain cash and avoid the 4% credit card surcharge.
When a guest is ready to book, they inform us by email. That’s all there is to it. No pre-payment, no deposit since covid. We accept Fiji $, US$, VISA, and MasterCard, but there is a 3% surcharge for credit card usage.
